SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW

This novel symposium convenes recognized global experts, industry leaders, and junior investigators, to advance the area of engineered vision. This conference will focus on (1) bioelectronic devices, (2) cell-based therapies and (3) gene therapies. The organizing committee, Mark Humayun, MD, PhD; Qifa Zhou PhD; and Yingxiao “Peter” Wang, PhD have invited subject matter experts. The symposium will pinpoint areas of overlap and develop a strategic plan to address common challenges and opportunities in these three areas.

With generous support from the National Eye Institute, we are offering this symposium at no cost for attendance and providing travel and accommodation poster session participants. We believe this is important to ensure barriers are removed that have historically made it difficult to attend. Eye health and wellness can help everyone, and the USC Ginsburg Institute is committed to ensuring equitable access to learning. Through this, all communities can benefit from the discoveries and insights discussed at the symposium. We are also deeply committed to upholding and exceeding ADA requirements and ask that any attendees requiring special accommodations reach out through the information below to ensure the Engineered Vision Conference provides a safe, accessible and inclusive experience.
